Darlington Quakers are a faith community who work for peace, equality and a sustainable future. We are a busy community building as well as spiritual space. You'll find details here of our worship, Quaker beliefs, Events & Community activities as well as Room Hire information.
Quaker worship is open to everyone regardless of your background or beliefs. They are an opportunity for silent spiritual contemplation and exploration. We believe that God is present in everyone and putting our faith into action is central to our way of life, whether in peace work, social justice or environmental sustainability.
Our testimony to Peace, Equality, Simplicity, Sustainability & Truth is what connects us as Quakers, not our beliefs. Quakers worship in silence without a set order of service. We gather in silent waiting to access the deepest part of ourselves and that "other" that may be called God, Spirit, Higher Power, Light ...or has no name.

Our MEETING HOUSE at 6 Skinnergate is a Grade 2* listed building in the heart of the town centre. Whilst it may look imposing and old fashioned from outside you’ll find a light & airy, warm and well run building inside, combining historic features with contemporary facilities.
It is a building which lives the Quaker ethos of simplicity, peace & care for everyone who walks through the door.
ROOM HIRE We are a busy and much loved town centre venue with many local groups using our rooms, from Yoga, to Line dancing, 12 step groups to Youth Theatre.
